Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the admission criteria, which include:

• Meeting the eligibility criteria for EU applicant status
• Undertaking a full-time undergraduate course of at least two years' duration
• Being a first-time, full-time undergraduate student
• Not repeating the year due to failing exams or changing course

EU Applicants

• Tuition fees: Covered by the Irish Government's Free Fees Initiative for eligible students
• Student contribution charge: 2,500
• IT fee: 475
• Health screening charge: 380 (once-off charge)
• NUI fee: 135 (once-off charge)
• Total fees: 3,490 (for academic year 2025/26) for students who qualify for Free Fees
• Total fees: 990 (for academic year 2025/26) for students who qualify for Free Fees and the SUSI Grant

Non-EU Applicants

• Tuition fees: 18,000
• RCSI Development Initiative Scholarship: 7,000
• Health screening charge: 380 (once-off charge)
• NUI fee: 135 (once-off charge)
• Total fees: 18,515 (for academic year 2026/27)

Scholarships

Several scholarships are available to students, including:

• Aim High Physiotherapy Access Scholarship: Designed to lessen the financial burden of attending university for students presenting the Irish Leaving Certificate who are applying to Physiotherapy via the CAO and are HEAR-eligible
• Aim High Graduate Entry Physiotherapy Access Scholarship: Awarded to one student entering RCSI's Physiotherapy program via the Graduate Entry route who entered their first degree through the HEAR scheme
• Traveller and Roma Communities Access Scholarship: Aims to increase the participation of members from the Traveller and Roma Communities in RCSI's Undergraduate Programs
• 1916 Bursary: Co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union to encourage participation and success by students who are most socio-economically disadvantaged and from groups most under-represented in higher education

Fee Payment

• Incoming students (first year): A minimum of 50% of fees are due prior to registration, with the balance due by 31 January
• Returning students (from second year onwards): 50% of fees are due prior to the start of the academic year, with the balance due by 31 January
